Exploring the Causes of Snoring

So You're Wondering What Causes Snoring, Huh?

Donnie Varrasso put in some serious hours as a project manager. With much the same commitment the Springfield father of two researched the causes of snoring. Extensively investigating the causes and cures for snoring. In this case his wife, Janet's. To see if he couldn't get a good nights sleep for a change.

I found there are many reasons people snore. So it's hard to generalize since your problem may be due to any number of causes. Ranging from physical issues to life style choices.

At it's simplest, snoring results from an obstruction at the back of your mouth and nose to the free flow of air. That's it!

What can cause this obstruction?

For one the cause can be poor muscle tone in your throat area. With that your tongue can slip back into the airway blocking the passage of air causing snoring. If that's the case, maybe some free snoring relief exercises would help?

One life style choice is drinking alcohol before going to bed. Alcohol can relax your muscles including those of the throat. Which again constricts the air ways and can lead to snoring. So if you're going to drink in the evening, make sure you down your last drink at least four hours before you plan on going to sleep.

Allergies can be another reason someone snores. Allergens can lead to nasal congestion. This constricts your air passages resulting in, you guessed it, snoring.

To combat that congestion, allergy suffers may take an anti-histamine late in the day. This can also give you trouble by over-relaxing the throat muscles. Instead look at a nasal decongestant for your allergy problems.

While allergies were the underlying cause behind Janet Varrasso's snoring, there are literally a host of causes of snoring. These are simply three of the more common reasons.
