Some Ideas for Those Looking to Quit Snoring

What Can I Do About My Snoring Problem?

Patrick Wilcox was a cable installer during the day - heavy snorer at night. And his significant other, Millie Wright, wanted that to cease.

"In my heart I knew Millie was right," Wilcox admitted. "I knew I needed to do something to quit snoring before it lead to a more serious problem. Snoring may be good for a laugh on TV, but it really can be deadly serious. Leading to possible serious health consequences if left untreated."

Pat added, "Basically I found out that when you snore, you are gasping for breath. That's right, snoring is caused by problems with air flowing through the air way in your throat."

"While the snoring sound you make? That comes from your soft palate and throat rubbing off each other as you struggle to inhale."

"So," Patrick went on, "finding ways to stop people snoring was high on my list."

"The best thing I did was learn to sleep on my side. Many of us tend to snore when sleeping on our backs. For me the snoring pretty much stopped when I learned to sleep with a pillow between my legs. Which also helped my lower backaches."

Other things to consider….

Allergy sufferer? Take a nasal decongestant before bed rather than an anti-histamine.

Lose weight. Fat building up on your neck can constrict the airways.

Sleep without help. Sleeping pills can relax the throat muscles leading to restricted air passages and snoring.

If you're got problems snoring and obstructive sleep apnea isn't, consider a no snore pillow. These are specially designed pillows that support your neck in such a way to allow for an open airway.

So those are some ideas for anyone looking to quit snoring.
