First Steps in Any Snoring Treatment

Simple Things You Can Try That Are Known To Cure Snoring

Before getting into any of the various snoring treatments it might help to understand why we snore.



You see, there's soft palate tissue towards the back of the roof of your mouth. Snoring is the sound that results when that tissue vibrates as it partially blocks the airway. Such blockage occurs naturally as the throat muscles relax when we're asleep.

This airway blockage is made worse at times by anything known to that throat tissue to sag. Such as sleeping pills, alcohol use or even warm milk for some.

Then too having extra fat around the neck and throat doesn't help matters either.

Generally treating snoring starts by improving your so called sleep hygiene. So expect any snoring treatment to include suggestions along the line of …

Drink caffeine-laden coffee or cola no later than four or five hours before your bed time.

Don't eat big late night meals. In fact expect losing weight to be part of most any suggested snore cure program.

Establish a set time to go to bed and then to wake up.

Avoid naps. They make it harder to sleep at night.

A warm bath can induce sleep as it's relaxing.

Try to cure snoring by reserving the bed for sleeping. It should not become the center for entertainment, late night snacking, or responding to emails from work.

If you wake up and can't go back to sleep get up and do something to settle yourself down.
